How TripInsure Plus Works

TripInsure Plus is high-quality, per-trip travel protection that offers two different plans, Essential and Premium, for you to choose from. The choice between the two plans allows you flexibility to evaluate the level of need for your specific trip.

Every trip is different. For some trips, our Essential Plan is perfect. For others, especially for those who want to be able to Cancel for any Reason, we offer extra coverage in our Premium Plan. We want to provide our members with the option to choose which coverage suits them and their trip investment the best. Picking your plan puts you in control. If you need the optional Cancel for any Reason coverage, choose the Premium Plan.

TripInsure Plus protects your travel investments from unforeseen events, like a cancellation, delay, or interruption due to covered reasons. Without travel protection, the money invested in your trip could be completely lost, or you may be forced to pay for replacement flights, personal belongings, or hotel stays. With quality travel protection like TripInsure Plus, you can book with confidence even months in advance, taking advantage of early booking discounts for your trip.

You should select and purchase a protection plan as soon as you make your initial payment or deposit for your trip in order to provide the maximum protection for your travel plans. Some benefits, such as our Premium Plan’s Optional Cancel for Any Reason coverage, require you to fulfill time sensitive criteria, such as the following requirements:

  1. You purchase the Cancel for Any Reason Coverage within the Time Sensitive Period (21 days of the date Your initial Payments or Deposits for Your Trip is received); and

  2. You insure the full cost of any subsequent arrangements added to Your Trip within 21 days of the date of Your payment for any such subsequent Travel Arrangements; and

  3. You cancel Your Trip no later than 2 days prior to the Scheduled Departure Date of Your Trip.

Eligibility for Coverage

We know that many retired folks invest their hard-earned money in travel experiences. TripInsure Plus plans are designed to protect travelers who are residents of the United States up to age 86.

TripInsure Plus covers trips up to a maximum of 30 days in length.

TripInsure Plus benefits can be paid for medical expenses up to the maximum benefit amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits if medical expenses resulted from a sickness that first manifests itself or an injury that occurs while on your trip and requires treatment in person by a physician. Pre-existing medical conditions are considered an illness, disease, or other condition during the 60-day period immediately prior to the date your coverage is effective. The exclusion for pre-existing medical conditions applies to Trip Cancellation coverage and Trip Interruption coverage as well. Please refer to the Sample Plan Document for more specific information. If you still have questions, please call 1-844-385-1887.

We will not pay any expenses if you have been advised in writing that you are not medically fit to travel at the time of purchase of the coverage. If you purchase your coverage and it is later determined that you were not medically git to travel at the time you purchase coverage for your trip, you may cancel your plan and any plan cost you paid will be returned.
